National "one2one" strategy

It is the political will to generalize the introduction of mobile devices such as the iPad in secondary schools and to make them a production and learning tool in the service of pedagogy. To this end, the Education IT Management Center (CGIE) has implemented an ambitious program for the multi-year acquisition of iPad-type tablets to meet the demands of high schools. Any request for mobile devices must be accompanied by a well-crafted educational file with, among other things, a detailed description of the educational project which must be supported by a motivated team of teachers. At the hardware level, the national strategy for making devices available is based on an annual rental model. STARTING THE IPAD FOR THE FIRST TIME At the first start of the iPad, it will be necessary to make some adjustments. At some point, you will need to enter an Apple ID (English Apple ID) (see step below). SETUP GUIDE MANAGED APPLE ID To access Apple services, the CGIE recommends using managed Apple IDs in the “Apple School Manager (ASM)” application. These managed Apple IDs are of the form "IAM@appleid.school.lu" and are created automatically by the CGIE for all students and teachers attending a "one2one" class. Similar to traditional Apple IDs that a user can create for their personal use, Managed Apple IDs for Education allow students and teachers to access Apple services and personalize their tablet. Unlike personal Apple IDs, Managed Apple IDs are owned and administered by the school through the ASM app. Managed Apple IDs are designed, among other things, to help schools meet privacy requirements for student and teacher data and limit its use. ABOUT MANAGED APPLE IDs ACTIVATE IAM ACCOUNT All 7th graders receive an activation letter for their IAM account . Please follow the procedure provided to activate the account. Students in other classes have in principle already activated their account. If the student's account was not yet activated or if the student has forgotten his password, simply request a new account activation letter. The IAM username and password are used when configuring the "eduroam" Wifi network. IAM ACTIVATION REQUEST ACTIVATION LETTER CONFIGURE EDUROAM WIFI In order to be able to access the "eduroam" wifi network, available in all schools, you must first download a profile from the site www.education.lu/services/eduroam (directly from the iPad). You can then connect the iPad to the eduroam wifi. During the first connection to the eduroam network, you must enter the IAM login and its password in the form loginIAM@iam.education.lu (eg schcl123@iam.education.lu) followed by the password. You will have to repeat this entry 3 times in a row. EDUROAM GUIDE DOWNLOAD PROFILE DISCOVER MICROSOFT 365 Since the start of the 2015/2016 school year, all students have had access to the "Microsoft 365" platform (formerly Office 365) and thus benefit free of charge from the latest generation of production, communication and collaboration tools, hosted in the cloud. "Microsoft 365" offers tools such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and many others, both in online version and in version to download and install on a maximum of 5 computers of your choice. Each student also has personal online storage up to 1TB.
