Ahead of RI's 76th Anniversary, Kaimana Regent Gives IDR 400 Million Aid for Veterans

Kaimana, Beritasatu.com - Towards the commemoration of the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia , the Kaimana Regency Government, West Papua, handed over a grant of Rp. 400 million to the families of veterans . The aid was symbolically given directly by Kaimana Regent Freddy Thie at Jokowi-Iriana Kaimana Park, Sunday (15/8/2021). According to Freddy, the grant aid is a form of local government attention for the services rendered by the Veterans to the Republic of Indonesia. He said the assistance was essentially not worth the sacrifices of the veterans. "The value of this grant is huge. But it is nothing compared to the services of veterans who have struggled to risk their souls and bodies for the sake of the Republic of Indonesia," said Freddy. The handover of the aid was part of a series of activities to raise the Red and White flag simultaneously with traditional and religious leaders in Kaimana. In this activity, a national dialogue was also held between regional heads and religious and traditional leaders. Furthermore, Freddy advised, especially the younger generation, not to forget the services of the heroes. "Bung Karno said, 'Jasmerah, don't forget history'. A great nation is a nation that respects the services of its heroes," said Freddy. In addition, Freddy also advised the younger generation to always involve themselves, fill independence with positive things and increase their knowledge and productivity. "Don't be influenced by negative behavior or lifestyle. We who live today no longer need to go down to the battlefield to fight the invaders. Just study hard, increase productivity. Your future is the future of this nation. Let's fill this independence with things -a positive thing," said Freddy.
